please exscuse the ginormous photos that were imported from this blog into the new…i promise they will not be as large in the future…i mean…well they will be larger than here…but you will be able to see all of her cuteness on the screen instead of having to scroll up and down to check it all out. i look forward to seeing you over there!!!

PS: i have LOTS of exciting new things planned…i CAN’T WAIT!

1. ella is EXTREMELY mobile. to the point of you can not take your eyes off her. this has been going on for 2 weeks now. very stressful at times. she is pulling herself up on EVERYTHING. couch….coffee table…kitchen table…chairs…gates…window sills…you name it she has done it. she is getting into everything as well…the dog’s food is a hot item and poor poor sammy…can i just say he is very patient…he really did not know what to make of it when she crawled over to him and put her head down on his….it was really sweet until she picked up her head and proceeded to poke him in the eye.
she really does LOVE her doggies. and there is no sneaking up on them. she literally squeals and giggles hysterically while speed crawling after them…i love it.

2. i have gotten to the point where decided i need some time for me to get things done. espesh since she is into EVERYTHING. it is constant. i have gotten nothing done around the house for 2 weeks. so i have enlisted chris’ mom and my mom to each take ella for sometime. she spent last wednesday with chris’ mom and then friday with my mom. which is great because she needs some time away from me…i think it is good for her and i both. i was pretty productive. i am in the process of making a playroom out of what was our office. and i am moving the office into the extra bedroom upstairs since we do not “need” it at the moment. (i have before photos and will post hem with afters when it is finished.)

3. and this is my most exciting. i am giving “all things life” a permanent cozy new home. i was given the opportunity to do this through a friend of emily’s originally i was inquiring for my photography blog but he was mostly seeking mama blogs…so i said what the hell. needless to say it is not ready yet…because i am super picky and indecisive…but i hope to have the big reveal this week.

so there you have it. i do hope that when i do announce our new home that you will ALL follow me…and i say ALL..because i know there are many of you….i just have no idea who some of you are. i am going to have to do something about that i think…possibly bribe you out of hiding.

but he makes her happy.

that last one is only because she is cute.
i too had a bunny…a ‘fisher price security blanket bunny’…and i would suck my thumb and with the other hand i would rub the satin trim between my pointer finger and thumb…and when it got too warm i would move to another spot…weirdo!

does your little one have “friend” and do they have any strange things they like to do to them? or did you have a “friend” growing up?

at one point in my life i was happy to go out…have drinks…dance my pants off. and now the highlight of my life on any given week is possibly getting to go to target solo…which by the way almost never happens.

i use to wear heals on occasion…now my “patagonia slip on maryjanes” are where its at. seriously…some of the outfits i saw last night were outrageous…espesh for 15′ temperature. but did i feel super hot in my super duper cheap old navy jeans with a waist that goes up to my belly button to keep my post baby squish in…also adorning the “diaper butt” because lets face it…old navy jeans suck and they lose their shape within 5 minutes of putting them on. the answer would be NO. do i need to feel hot when going out to a “club” as a married woman with a baby…it wouldn’t be a bad thing.

i didn’t drink lastnight…mainly because i had to drive home…40 minutes…and i HATE to drive at night. so i figured my hate along with the 1:00am departure time was not a good mix with alcohol. would i have enjoyed myself and let lose if i had…probably.

now don’t get me wrong…i did have fun..and mostly because the girls i was with were hysterical and the most important part was…steph was having a good time! i did get my squishy ass up on a mechanical bull…and prob due to my soberness…stayed on for a pretty decent amount of time.

but as i rode back to my car in the limo alone…and on my drive home…i thought a lot about myself…how did i get here? i’m 27…yet i feel WAY older than that. again…don’t get me wrong…i LOVE my life…i have the most amazing husband…and the coolest little girl for a daughter. i get to spend day in and day out taking care of my family and home…making sure they are happy.

it is almost 4 years ago that chris and i started dating…and yet in that 4 years i feel i have changed…SO MUCH. and it took me going out to realize this….kind of made me a little sad…am i not a fun person anymore? do others think i am not fun? i rattled all these questions over and over in my head on my drive home last night. i was tired and trying to stay awake. and about 5 minutes from home…on the radio came…

train’s…”hey soul sister”

many might not know…but ella and i dance to this song everyday…so i belted out the lyrics…with tears in my eyes…because you know what…she thinks i am fun….and i would rather dance my pants off with her any day of the week! and thats all that matters.

in the bigger scheme of things…ella is PERFECT…HEALTHY and HAPPY. this is not chemo-therapy…it is a helmet. so in a way i feel silly for feeling like it is a big deal. i think i have had my moment…and its over. you know like when you kid breaks their arm…hopefully this does not happen. you are all up in arms…and then it passes. because like i said before…it is a helmet…nothing life threatening.

i am still angry that the e’s pedi didn’t recommend this 3 months ago when i asked about in the first place. but i should get over it…and if i don’t i will just change pedi’s.

so ella has an appointment at children’s hospital on february 11th. we are going to meet with the dr…see what he recommends etc.

regardless of my of “oh my god…my kid is going to have to wear a helmet…how is that gonna work?” moment…you guys are the best…but i knew that already.

so as awesome as it was to get into a room…it was not so awesome that the dr. was 30 minutes behind schedule…and it was like 500 degrees in the room. so she shows up…”sorry i am running behind”. i tell her “its not a big deal.” (i lied. ella was being a fidget monster because…ummm…it was NAP TIME.)

so then dr. s proceeds to ask me if i had been on vacation…motioning to my lobster like appearance. so rather than saying “actually it is hotter than balls in here and i have been waiting for half and hour with a baby that thinks she should be napping in her crib.” i politely said “no…its just really warm in here.”

enough of my bitching…onto the appointment…thats why you are reading…right?

the little bean is growing like a weed…which i knew from the fact that she literally was in her 12 month footed pj’s for 5 seconds.

as of today she is…

• 20 lbs and 10 oz (75%)
• 29.5 inches tall (97%)
• head circumference of 44 cm (50%)

in all her awesome almost 9 month status she is…

• crawling…occasionally at lightning speed..usually after sammy. because she LOVES him in a possibly unhealthy way…and he doesn’t know what to make of it…so he runs away….or tries to at least.
• eats like a professional….pointer finger to thumb…seriously the cutest thing EVAR.
• standing up in her crib…awesome…but at 2:30 am…not so much.
• has 2 teefers…friggin cute…and i think a third on the top is on its way…things are looking puffy up there.
• says “da da deee” ALL the time. (go figure…i carried her for  9 months…labored for 40 hours and spend every waking moment with her and she says “da da dee” first. nice. no really so happy for chris…it makes his day!)
• plays on her own pretty well for the most part.
• naps like a champ most days.
• is the most INCREDIBLY AWESOME little person in our lives…yet she does not know it yet. xoxo

now onto my SOS. so apparently ella has a bit of a flat head. something i asked the dr. about at 6 months. she said it was mild…and that all her other features line up just fine. so fast forward 3 months later…her head is flat-er. GREAT! it is flat-er…but her features are still fine. and for us to correct it would be purely for cosmetic reasons. not because she NEEDS it.

so she gave me a number for a plastic sugeon…who will meet with us…and most likely he would recommend a helmet. now i am a little angry and upset for several reasons.

1. i slept her on her back…as recommended. so now she has a flat head. (do i win mom of the year?)
2. the dr. noticed it at 6 months and said it was mild…not to worry.
3. but had she said go talk to this guy and he said get a helmet…i would have been more likely to torture my child at 6 months vs. 9 months….they have to wear those things for like 23 hours a DAY! the idea…turns my stomach….i do not see any of that going over well.

so there is her head…best i could do under pressure to get evidence. (i am letting her play with my calculator…she was SOOO HAPPY.)

would you do a helmet? she said most likely he will recommend one…but it would be for cosmetic reasons only. i do not want her to be 15 and hating me because i DID NOT fix her poor little flat head when she was 9 months old. ya know what i mean? but she will prob have hair to cover it up….right? arrrgh!
